But that doesnt reflect on my opinion of Henry, as the two are independant!

He goes missing in the big matches too often. Van Nistleroy for example is a much more lethal striker, altho Henry is sublime to watch and provides moments of magic nearly every game

If Van Nistleroy is such a lethal striker why did Thierry Henry get the golden boot award again this season.

Er because he scored more goals. Perhaps we can ignore the number of games played and the political and injury situation at united just for the sake of your argument

Henry is by far a better player than Ruud. No doubt old horse head can score and is a class act but name two goals scored outside the box! bet ya cant!

Henry is the fookin man, pay him whatever he wants, the gunners need him to bring on the current crop of young 'uns!

as a neutral the man is a joy to watch!!!

I wasnt disputing that Henry is a better player, he's not a better striker tho, I agree totally with your sentiments. I also gave a to the news he was staying. Doesnt take away from the other stuff i said too tho.

Ruud was at the top for ages with 21, hes been top all season, Ferguson hasn't played him for like 10 games as well as the cup final. Thats why. Rudd hit 150 goals in 208 games, Henry took far longer. Both great players just different. He wasn't even allowed to play Keanes testimonial.

if arsenal had of won on wednesday i think he would of left.
he would of done everything he could do with an english club and there would be no reason to stay in england.

glad he is staying, i think arsenal started to come together as team towards the end of the season and it can only get better next season!

You obviously don't have a clue about football then. No doubt Ruud scores lots in the box, hes a raw striker not a CF thats what you want him to do. Henry is more like Rooney, Henry is overworked. Whilst Herny was rotting on then bench at Juventus Rudd was banging in 30+ a season in holland.

2 goals outside the box? lol hes scored loads, how about where he went all the way down the wing against ARSENAL. How about a 40 yard strike for holland and how about this for United. (ruud is capable of anything Henry can do but more importantly is always in the right place and the right time, he can volley better too.)

Given the choice I would rather watch Henry play for 90 mins than see that fookin Ruud Van Horsesarse run around.

Press conference called by Arsenal @ 2pm.

Thats upto you who you would rather watch, but personally i would rather have the more prolific striker in my side. Ruud scorers more than Henry, far quicker at reaching the milestones and in more leagues also for his country.

Ruud may not stay either but lets see Henry and Ljungberg or Ruud and Rooney?
Arsenal will never win Europe, not for the next 100 years anyway!

Football isnt all about scoring goals. Its about creating as well.

Its fine Van horsesarse scoring 20+, so does Henry. What Henry also does is plough in with 20 - 30 assists a season too.

In my view it makes him a far better team player. Which is exactly why Arsenal are prepared to offer him 150k per week to stay.

Was has Van Driver got from Fergie? The shaft and basically been told he can go for Ł10m... what they pay? Ł19m+?

What I would rather see is Henry and Rooney...

In current form, I'd say Arsenal have a far better chance of winning the CL than Man U.

No doubting Van Nistelroy's ability, but if he's the perfect strike partner for Rooney, why's he supposed to be leaving?

Who cares what he looks like, Henry has scored way more goals and from all posistions. As i say Arsenal will never win Europe. I'm not sure whats worse, getting knocked out 1 round before Chelski by Benfica because half your teams has broken legs or getting to the final and losing towards the end!

I support United and would rather see us in the final. At least then we have a chance of wining it.

If Ruud goes hopefully Rossi will make the step up and become a regular

Form? How did you work that out Einstein? Lets compare shall we,

Man U- 5 Key players out for most of the season and some from the start, bad early form = exit from Europe. By the end of the Season we were runners up in the Premier, getting the media excited again, Won 1 of the 4 trophys at cardiff, beat Chelski. Spent only Ł6m on a keeper and a player unlike Chelskis Ł55m.

Arsenal- Nearly missed out of CL, pasted in all cups and got the the final of the CL becaause The teams they played failed to scorer or play. (Juve, Real) In fact Villareal nearly had them and Barcelona a decent team smashed them. Real and Juve were awful no goals in 4 games.

but if he's the perfect strike partner for Rooney, why's he supposed to be leaving?

For the same Reason Stam and Beckham did who were also world class in their posistions. You mess with Ferguson and you're out!

He's had a bit of a falling out with Fergie. History will tell you that any Man Utd player that fall's out with Fergie is for the chop. We'll have him for 10 mil

Hey, I'd love to see him playing for us.......

Einstein? Well in current form, I'd say Arsenal did pretty well turning over Juve and Real, not conceeding obviously until the final. And Man U's European form this year - lol

Barcelona "smashed" them? - were you watching the same game? Or just bitter?

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Man U hater - the best team of the 90s, loved watching them play with Cantona, Giggs on form, Scholes wonder strikes, Schmiechal in goal - all great players etc

Don't quite know what your point is? Personally I'd rather get to the final than not at all.......

The point is this, overall for the season United did better. You talk about form that Arsenal have the best chance of winning it so i just pointed out that Real and Juve failed to score becuase they played awful, they both said this. Villareal missed a penalty and in the final Barcelona were ROBBED of a goal. Arsenals 1 goal came from a set piece.

Bottom line is its taken Arsenal years to start getting the the quarters and beyond, anyone remember the Wembley days? And they BLEW it. It could be another 100 years before they get such a good chance a a top trophy.

People think Arsenal did well beating Juve and Real because they are such big clubs, but they were poor in the CL this year. In fact this years CL was average apart from the final. The teams that did well were mainly the smaller unexpected ones like Lyon and Benfica. Barcelona were the only team that actually did well all the way through. Even AC nearly slipped up early.

In the previous champions leagues, theres no way you would score as little as Arsenal did and still get through in the later stages, it just shows they played big clubs but who failed to want to play the game.

Bottom line, Chelski and Arsenal have no European cup on their books, we could all be dead before its happens to either.

I was watching the second game. The on where Villareal had most of the posession, lots of chances yet just couldnt finish. In fact Riquelme missed a penalty. In the first game Arsenal scorer 1 goal. Just like the did in the 2 against Real. Big deal.

As for Barcelona as you ask, they had a clear goal taken away. Arsenal defending but they were still smashed, 3-1 is smashed. Arsenals goal was a set piece not open play. They had chanced no doubt but Barcelona made them cry. Unlucky.

Perhaps thats because people try to make out Henry is a million miles better than Ruud even though takes less games to reach the legendary status. Even though he has being doing it all his life not just at 1 club. Also when people follow the illusion that Arsenal were playing Real and Juve than United used to play. Real are passed it and need new, fresh blood. Juve are corrupt and have issues. Arsenal did well to reach the final but they were lucky in who they played. If the played Lyon etc it could have been very different.

The team i support has won the European cup more than once!

Just like to point out I'm a luton fan (A REAL FOOTBALL FAN) and not really bothered anyway

IF your going to talk like then then, Barca's first goal was offside (apparently so) thats 2:1..... and the goal they "scored" was when arsenal had 11 men..... so 1 goal against 10 men applying your theory of football....... hardly a shashing

Dan, i couldn't care less mate. The truth is Arsenal have had 1 chance, its taken them years and they pissed it away. They were beaten fair and square. All i hear now is crying. Poor Arsenal.

im an arsenal fan so its great news
henry is awesome but u cant compare him to van nistelrooy who is equally awesome van nistelrooy is a natural predator who will bang goals in good, bad, easy, rebounds, headers all sorts thing is u need to compare him to th like of shearer both natural strickers
now henry is different player he score goals quite alot granted and he also sets up lots aswell as natural skill and blistering pace but he hardly even is in th box for a rebound or a header coz he has to do all th work u need someone like him an van nistelrooy

ie rooney and van nistelrooy (when he gets back on his game)

Quick Reply: Henry to sign for four more years?
