need some help, mk 3 golf wont start....
my brother golf is playing up.
he changed the battery terminals as his wernt great. he literally just disconnect the wires, and re connected them on the new terminals.
but now the car wont start.
it turns over and im pretty sure its getting fuel as i can smell it.
but it wont actually start. there is no dash lights either. (other than indicator lights)
ther heater blowers work, lights work. everything works. it hasnt lost the ignition live as the side lights come on with ignition off. and then go to dipped head lights when u turn the key.
im guessing that it could be a realy of some sort as it seams to of taken to much out to just be a fuse.
im going to try running a live from the battery to the coil to see if it will start like that.
but any ideas of anything to check would be great.
it went for an mot recently and needs to go in for its re test, but clearly it cant at the moment.
cheers in advance guys

PassionFord Post Whore!!
check he's got all the wires in the right places, there is one black single wire that comes from the negative loom area that is actually a live, quite a easy mistake to attach it to the wrong terminal.
