Ah right, sorry then mate, i don't really know. Could your loom not just be repaired in any way?

Or would that still cause it to recognise the fault?

HI mate i work for a bmw & mini dealership as a warranty administrator this is a very common fault how old is your mini ? the dealer ship you went to should have put a goodwill request down the line as a high cost repair & providing your car isnt too old or an import you should get a good contribution

carlo - i do the same as you, and was just going to say the same thing!

Just get Chandlers to do their job and put a goodwill request in, it's up to them to get all the prices!

Funny enough i put a request down this morning for a mini that the electric power steering pump shorted & melted the wiring loom i got 100% parts & 50% labour.it was a 52 plate with 33k
Im pretty confident you will get a contribution it was a mini one but it shouldnt make any difference.
The part no is . m 12 51 7 53 31 03 £128.51
If you were local mate i would help you out
