Yeah they've deffo got issues, i had a set of rear brakes off them, the 1st set the discs were too wide to fit the caliper?? got the correct thickness on now but all the bolts that were supplied with the kit were either too long or too short also had to grind the inside of the caliper carrier to stop it fouling the disc??? definately steer clear of these muppets....

yep, i also needed to grind the calliper carrier on the rears of my Escort to stop the disc from touching the carrier.
Have Compbrakes front and rear, and except those little issues (had a few ones tbh, but no problem regarding shipping or supplying as Nuts RUS took care of this and he is spot on ) i'm pleased with them

bollocks to that, you should NOT be paying customs charges more than once - its their fault not yours.

Send the customs receipts to them and claim it back, else take them to court. What about the wrong struts, have you returned them?

I've had a 16" Series 2 4 pot kit from them and it came very quickly and at a very fair price...

No problems with it so far...

They do themselves no favours sometimes

To be fair on Barbara she wouldn't know one end of an Escort from the other - but thats no excuse.

If you would all like to carry on posting comments I'll make sure they all see this Maybe it will do some good

I have been doing ok with the group buy on TCA's.

Only 2 issues from about 30 sets, 1 was from someone who ordered the wrong type, and the second was a metric sized bolt wouldnt go through an imperial hole

I found out a little more about your problems too EsCosRacer, as I wanted to follow them up, to improve upon their customer service. After the first set were supplied incorrectly You were apparently asked to fax or mail over the part numbers for the components you needed to avoid further confusion, and apparently someone at your end faxed over the part numbers for Escort Mk1/2 which is why they were supplied again..... Can you confirm that please ?

£123 or £156 depending on which type you needed.

Is ending soon so they will be going back up to Ebay price of £175 plus postage etc.

Details are still in the sierra section Messr Smit

Thanks I didn't refer to you as EsCosRacer so maybe there are others who have been in a similar situation.

I can believe it at times, thats why Im being a middle man (at no cost) for the Pf sold items. Perhaps if you had used part numbers (clearly stated on the website) then this may not of happened ??

ISO certificates are for the manufacturing side of things not envelope stuffing, but its a point I will bring up whilst having the next meal out with friends not twats

Thanks again - it all helps

Tony

Tony

correct me if i am wrong , but arnt 2wd and 4x4 the same ??

Either way Comp brake are a joke , they service is the worst i have ever had to deal with .

There products are good for the money but the hassle you have trying to get the correct parts you ordered and a complete kit when it does arrive just makes buying from then a defo NO NO ,

If they got there act together they could become a major player in the performance parts world , but i dont think they ever will

They don't want to step up to be a major player either Paul, supplying places like rally design, GAZ, Leda and many of the big motorsport outlets direct etc keeps them busy enough not to need too many outlets.

Difference in TCA prices comes from the supply of the initial items before modfication, but some are pinch bolt and some are thread located as you know. They are sourced from different countries.

Micheal, Im not playing anything down (hense bringing the topic back up in the first place) If I were you I would have sold the other 2 items long ago by now Thanks for your help though, it is appreciated I don't profess to teach anyone anything either btw, unless they can read between the lines of what was written

Must say i have a Compbrake kit on my Cossie which has performed ok but i was also sent the wrong parts which was apain in the arse as i had fitted one side & went to fit the other only to find out they had supplied 1x 4x4 caliper bracket & 1x 2wd caliper bracket was rectified within 2 days but what monkeys pack these kits honestly.

Tony, the last time i was at Rally Design the owners son asked if it was a Compbrake kit on my car as he was looking at it, when i said yes he just said i'd be carefull buying that stuff we won't deal with him anymore bla bla bla i won't say what he said, wasn't complementry though.

Compbrake HAVE supplied a lot of big name dealers in the past and they have all dropped them ,NOT FOR THE QUALITY just the very poor service and wrong parts in kits , so please dont say they dont want to be big players Tony because they have tried and failed and now just sell on fleeybay as this is the only outlet left for them

Big shame because i liked Steve and the products
