Default My cossie is fixed at last! woohoo!

some of you will have read my posts before about all sorts of fuel pressure issues but i wont bore those of you that dont know by going through it again

basically the last thing i did fixed the car

i had put on a brand new GpA pump, fuel pressure reg and also rewired the fuel pump with direct battery feed. Last thing i did was take off the tank to check it out and it was fucked. Petrol that came out of it was brown and mingin! Put on a brand new tank the other night with help from my mate. Last night he was busy so i had to bite the bullet and get my hands dirty
fitted it all up and was crappin it because if this didnt fix the fault i felt like giving the damn car away! i went to get some petrol and filled up the tank. i waas really nervous but it came to starting time...flat battery
Popped next door and borrowed jump leads and hooked them up. tried the key again and car was turning no bother but not firing so i was well paranoid that i had fucked up
called my mate and he casually said "have you checked the inertia switch in the boot?". i went to the boot and sure enough it had tripped because i had the car jacked up. pressed it down and the car fired first time

nervously drove down the street and let it warm up by lapping the village twice. Headed for the dualler and stuck the boot in...full boost and full revs with no stutter. dancer

god the car is fast and 2nd gear full bore up the box to 140mph is well decent

woohoo!!

sorry i forgot to add that i put on a brand new ford fuel filter instead of the "fancy" shit that was there. also new single hose from tank to pump and have removed the spare pump and filter.

cheers for your advice stu. I slowly got through the list you give me and of course the problem was on your list...thanks

How come it didn't choke until it got hot though?

Will it see Nat Day this year? How much boost are you running now?

Possibly more an issue of it choked after the sediment, that had settled nicely onto teh bottom overnight, got all mixed up and entered the fuel stream properly.. could possibly have been counted in corners as opposed to degrees... lol
