Default 17" alloys on a Fiesta Zetec-S ???

Wonder if anyone can help. What's the ideal ET for set of 17" alloys on 205 / 40/ 17 tyres to fit a Fiesta Zetec-S (mk5)

anyone fitted 17" to a Zetec-S? If so did they catch or rub at all?

Cheers

I tried some ( the ST170 wheels ), handled like shite so they came straight off in half an hour. And they rubbed too on standard ride height

Im not supprised, the ST170 tyres are 225 / 40 /17 and 3 times too big for the car. the correct 17" size for the ZS is 205 / 40/ 17, would they still rub i wonder?

Paul, why not do it? Did you ever fit 17" to Anna's ZS and try it ?

Well you humptie numptie, the std size for the ST170 is 225/40/17 and no where in your post did you say you stuck different sized tyres on the ST170 rims . Dont roll your eyes at your elders, its rude!

Thanks for the handling and rubbing info tho

My mates got 17's with 205/40/17s and there ET38.

Still at standard height and will only rub occasionally on the rear if its a massive bump and theres 2 or more people in the back.

Looks quite good on them too.

I've got 17's on mine and lowered 40mm, doesnt rub even with 2 ppl in the back. Have trimmed the back bumper bracket slightly as this is where itused to catch. 205/40/17 tyres, falken ze512 tyres i use as they have a curved sidewall which gives that extra bit clearance.

Sure i will get shot down by sum ppl saying these tyres are s**t tho.

Nope because i knew it would ruin it, you like to drive like me mate - fast especially round the B roads.

17's will just kill the already perfect handling, leave the 15's on there and get some nice Eibach springs like Anna had

That would be mucho better

My mate had his on coilovers and it wasn't too bad, other mate put RS7's on his (also with coilovers) and couldn't turn the wheel as the wheel was pushing the arch out. IMO you can't get the car low enough to be able to look good with 17's.
