took the spare wheel out of the saff and noticed this block thing with a white button/switch. on the side of the wheel well there was a notice that read Warning ensure switch is in down position! so i pressed it and it went down.WTF.
is it fuel cut off? ps there is some home made wiring next to it going through the floor to what i expect the fuel pump??

It is a fuel cutt off switch.

If you hit a hard bump ect it may pop out and the car will just die there and then, always check that first as it may of popped up and cut the fuel

as said above its the cut out switch
the home made wiring as you say may be a bypass to stop it going off

yeah it must be bypassed because the switch was popped up.the bodging bastard's.makes me think what else has been bodged!when the summer is over i think its time for the full restoration.
