Default lambda sensor!?? anyone ever had probs with these??

think thats how its spelt???? think this could be part of my problem!?

anyway my escort cosworth is having a hesitation problem and its also been idling very bad

this has only happend in the last week or too my brief spec is
small turbo spec, T28 hybrid set @ 1.2bar, superchips chip, 4 bar fuel reg, k+n,new plugs (gapped correctly) unsure what fuel pump atm???

the car has been fine never skipped a beat till the other day just started hesitating real bad its fine driving around normally but when i put my foot down it hesitates badly...

today i unplugged the lamba sensor and it idles perfect with it unplugged but it still hesitates

so my actual question is have you lot ever had a problem with this sensor could this be causing my problems??? would it effect my idle and cause the hesitation?

i have not replaced nething on the car to make it do this it just suddenly did it one day so can't put it down to me changing something ...

any help appriciated

The lambda sensor is a very definate possibility, as are a few other items as well as teh airflow meter.

If its chipped, try unplugging the chip too, these are known to go faulty on the EEC IV system.

The correct way forward is to get the management scanned by a specialist.
