What a pain in the ass selling a car at the mo...
This kid came up to view my car last tuesday said he will turn up at 5 but didnt get here till 8.30..
Anyway he liked the car and said he wanted it..He put down £200 deposit..Said he will pop up Sunday to pick it up with the rest of the cash..
Friday came so i rang him to said still on for sunday..he said no will have to be Monday now.I then said well if it helps i can meet you half way.he said yes that would be great..Arranged a time and place for saturday just before i leave he texs me and says sorry cant do it..fine i thought we will leave it till Monday as planned..Well last night I rang him no answer left a message saying let me know when you poping down to pick the car up..No reply..so today been ringing him since 10 with no answer..

Really pissing me off as I seen i car i want.WHO THE f*ck gives a £200 deposit then just doesnt answer the phone or come and pick the car up.. hes got till Tuesday then il sell it to someone else..

Anyone else has crap like this when selling a car

 

Same happened to me in October with my RS, took a deposit, couldnt get in contact with the chav buying it for a few days then it went missing off the drive......

Taken into consideration.....WHAT A FUCKING PISSTAKE
I had a Corsa GSI when they came out that was pinched as part of my Moms surgery being robbed [computers etc] and they got my spare keys and had it away with the stolen gear in my car then proceeded to rob a chemists and then another local surgery. My car was recovered 5 days later covered in scratches with rims bent and other body damage and I had to pay 180 quid recovery and IIRC 25 quid a day storage.
When the 2 druggies that were responsible went to court they got a community supervision order INC REHAB each and my car and my Moms surgery robbery were TIC.
I ended up £4k out of pocket and the thieving cocksuckers were out doing the same sort of crimes STRAIGHT from court. This country is fucked up....RANT OVER

 

First come first serve mate if he hasnt got the decency to get back to you sell it to someone else and let him come and get the money back if hes that bothered which it seems he isnt

 

Sod that if he left the £200 as a deposit its yours if he pulls out of the deal BUT if he left it as a part payment he is entitled to a refund

 

Like you say mate if he doesn't come through or get back to you buy tuesday sell it to the other person. If he then gets in contact and complains give him his money back and tell him politely to fuck off

 

The deposit is none refundable..
Today was the day he should of come and picked up the car with the rest of the cash.Been ringing him since lastnight and got nothing..Surely if he couldnt make it he should of phoned and arranged another time..
How long should I give him to pick the car up no more than a week surley?

 

Has he signed something to say he left it as a deposit, if not its his word against yours, id leave a message with him, stating how long you will wait for him o collect it give him a deadline, if he goes over this sell it on.

You couldn't be more right, I never claimed on my insurance either and the amount I had spent on the RS put me well out of pocket, think I totted up receipts for £3000 for the previous 12 months of ownership.

So when they say crime doesn't pay its actually a bit of a fib isn't it because you can trailor someones car away... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY! strip it, sell it and only on the odd occasion you do get caught you get 2 months in prison... which lets be honest he isnt going to do.

Then there is insurance what a fucking farse, I was with HIC, i phoned the next day after the theft, spoke to about 5 people and then got the grilling of my life and told in not so many words that I was lying the car couldn't have been stolen as it had a category 1 alarm!! what a joke.

In the end I didn't claim as the few grand tops I'd have probably got after they finished diggng some shitter out of the autotrader to compare it against plus the loosing my 3 years no claims it just wasnt worth it.

Daz, one week is plenty long enough, text him saying if you don't reply within 3 hours the money will not be returned and the car will be sold to another party - no arguments, thats that

 

yeah if i was you i would leave a msg reminding him that the £200 was a deposit that is none refundable, if he dont get in contact by endof week and collect car by end of week you WILL be selling it to another person and that he will loose his £200.

might give him a kick up the arse to move!

 

sounds like the same twat that was buying my gtir left a deposit then was coming up every weekend for 2 month then i telt him to fuck off and i was keeping the deposit to put the car back on ebay and in the trader

 

leave a message on his answer phone giving him the deadline then fcuk him if he doesnt turn up,keep the deposit and re-sell

Il give him till 12 tonight then tell him..

 

should have been in touch himself by now if he wanted it.

if you sell the car at least you have the choice to keep the money of give him it back.
