Hi,

Has anybody had any experiences insuring cars with cages?

Would like a a proper (not a dimma one ), just wondering if this will seriously effect insurance.

Im insured with Norwich union at present, runs out Mat 25th

But with all my mods the insurance didnt go up and that includes an 8-point welded in cage

No probs with Adrian FLux with mine...

Adrian Flux refused to cover mine when I told them I wanted to fit a cage. I've had no end of trouble getting cover. A lot insurance companies were happy (well ish ) about the 250bhp engine. As soon as I said cage, I kept getting told "sorry we can't offer cover for your vehicle.

HIC sorted me out though

Just to let you know, most of our underwriters will cover roll cages (+ Nitrous oxide) so if you need a hand we'd be happy to help .

We also offer track cover options with some of our underwriters.. just in case you want to put the cage to test.

I caled for a quote from your guys and the chap I spoke to simply turned round and said they couldn't insure the car with a roll cage

Does it matter if its a dimma seat belt one or a 127 point weld in though?

my quote for my RS1600i was great from HIC, very knowloedgable and understanding bloke on the end of the phone, ended up chatting for a while after the quote as he used to own an RS16i, good lad
