wtf?
The pic isn't what the webpage says they are, 5" leg span etc. The video even shows the camel spider in action with it's small legs.
So wtf are those things in the pic then?

While i was working down in the Syrian Desert i had one of these Camel spiders outside my cabin every night. Used to go for a walk around the camp after tea and the £ucking thing was always lurking around on my return. Never bothered the locals at all, they never gave it a second look.
To big to get under the door though
Never seen as much weird and wonderfull beasties as i did down there, slept every night with ear plugs in.

mate of mine in the royal engineers was telling me about these before he went to iraq about 3 months.
He had to have lessons on these things on how to get em off ya as the supposedly jump onto people and bite them to numb the area then a female one lays eggs in the skin.

That is fucking scary.
End of.
I don't like the look of them things one bloody bit... Christ, I turn into a paranoid book-wielding psychopath if I even suspect there's a house spider kicking around

That picture is BOLLOCKS, its actually being held by someone in front of the bloke it looks like is holding them.
Its like when people take a picture of themselves "propping up the leaning tower of piza(SP?)" its just perspective. The tourist isnt really 200ft tall
Anyone seen the episode of father ted with the cows and the distance?
I think some people in this thread seriously need to watch it, LOL

LOL at Chip
Found a white tail on our ceiling 2 weeks ago which all up including legs is about the size of a 10p, so far from big. Give a nasty bite that dissolves the skin. Took me ages to get to sleep for the next 2 nights, little buggers
Had a huntsman spider on the floor that the cats were chasing that was about 4 inches accross. They are harmless but damn scary as they have thick legs not like daddy long legs. They run sideways as well. Glad the cats found them more interesting that I did.

Is it the Huntsman that keeps all the Baby spiders on its back?
Work Mate just came back from the GP in Melbourne and was staying at his releations house. Said that there were a few spiders kicking around but came across this thing in the garage so prodded it with a stick and said that £ucking loads of little spiders spilled off it
