Yes, it's not a clutch issue as such but they can slip a bit through a certain rev range with near to full throttle - usually if you short shift around 4-5k.
The answer is to stop driving like a pansy and always change at the red-line What you say about BMW is apparently true.

No major problems with mine. Just had a rear suspension spring let go but that's fairly common too. I've had a diff but really only because I asked the dealer to do it, as I wasn't 100% sure the diff was ok before a trackday.

They're pretty solid cars (mines done around 8,000 on track).

so what happens to the old brakes?
do they crop up on ebay for pennies like old supercharger
I attach domes to the top of the old discs, then throw them into the sky and photograph them

are they erally that bad or do they just not handle the abuse peole give them? if it's the same brakes on a car thats that much lighter surely they shoulnd't be giving up so easily

On the road they're fine, it's on the track where they struggle. The pads are the greatest let down. Put a set of Pagid RS19s in and the standard setup is not too bad, however, for total consistency lap after lap the AP setup is the only way to go.

The other pic above is Rosco. That car has KW3 suspension modifications.

I must admit they're one of my must-own cars.
They sound great at full chat.
