Default Escos reshell . . .

Please excuse my great stupidity on this. There is an Escos on for under 9k at a garage near me. Does look a good un too. He says it's that price cos it's been reshelled. Why does this affect it's value so much ? Is it cos the car has a past or is it more deep rooted than this ?

Would this affect the ability to sell it on much ? Is it the only thing that affects it, the fact it ain't original ? No other implications.

Don't know. Was gonna have a look around the garage in question as i'm down that way tomorrow and i noticed they had this in too. Will try to find out. I am thinking of buying a Escos in the near future and am just starting to look at a few and was wondering about the implications of a reshell, whether it's a big issue etc.

No way on earth i was gonna buy it, gonna get me a REAL one when i get one. Can't be a ringer if the dealer is able to pass it on legitimately though surely. It must be a legal car. It is a 3i shell though is it ?

be careful anyways,my bro in law had an escos for bout 3 years then sold it on to one of his mates(bout a years ago) then a while ago the police turned up and confescated the car...turns out it shared its identity with another car which a guy had bought as a shell and then re-built and tried to register, and it was only then it came up

They cant even figure out which one is the ringer, and God knows when it was done! and if plod cant figure out which one is the bad'un then they could both endup in the crusher!
