my mates 4x4 saph when it gets warm it revs up to 2500rpm on idle and wont go down... any thoughts?

Remove the ISCV and clean it with carb cleaner,should be ok then...

Try disconnecting the idle speed control valve....or possible air leak check all gaskets on the inlet side.

if unplugging the ISCV drops the idle down to normal, then chances are it's throttle position sensor adjustment that is wrong.
