Why Is My Focus Engine Warning/Management Light On????
Hi Chaps
On a Focus Ghia can anyone tell me wat would cause the engine warning/management light to come on and stay on????? It should come on with the ignition and then go out when the car starts but it stays on.
It the orange one in the bottom lefthand side of the dash clock panel, next to the oil light.
The engine runs fine, the oil pressure is great and there is nothing apparently wrong but the light won't go out?
Does anyone know what could be the cause?
Many thanks
Bob

Bob it will most proberbly be one of 2 faults
1st one being either the up stream oxy sensor is faulty ,
Or the pcm (ECU) has picked up on a cylinder missfire detection (coil pack)
Hope that helps ,
Regards Doug .

No Bob they are about £38 + vat from ford
But if you know someone with a snap on scanner get them to read the codes first as a precautionary measure like stated could be upstream oxy sensor

You can put it in to test mode via the and see if any codes have been logged.
Hold down the trip reset button and turn ignition on to enter test mode. Then keep pressing the trip button to cycle through the menu until you come accross "DTA" or "DTC" (or something like that i cant remember ) and see if theres anything logged
