my birds laptop has some how had the little pin in side the mains connection broken so when you plug the adaptor in it to charge it . it wont !!!!!!

went to a pc place to ask to fix it and they want to charge me £150 to have a new power socket thing fitted !!!!!! the little thing must cost about £2 from Maplins !!!

can i get a desktop charger for the battery , like a docking station so i can charge it with out the battery being in the laptop or does anyone know a cheap electrician that could either change the socket in the laptop or just hard wire the mains supply into the thing so she can use it ??????
