tbh i have a Petrol mondeo as a day to day driver and i wouldnt expect much of an answer on here if i had a problem with it, as yes most people own cossies/rs's so they know more about them.
Are you registered on the mondeo boards ? http://www.fordmondeo.org/

problem ive got is that i bought a 2002 mondeo tdci with bust engine so fitted engine and box from a 54 plate with 9000mile. on new 6 speed box hasnt got a speed sensor in the gearbox. on 53 plate or newer it uses sensors on all for wheels wear as the 5 speed has a sensor above the drive shft but the 6 speed box has the mounting point above the drive shaft the same as the 5 speed so hoping i can plug sensor in and will work. not sure if will so dont want to spend 80 quid to find out still have no speedo

I doubt anyone on hear knows the answer to that question even now that you have asked it properly
Ask that Tiff geezer he is a fellow Mondo oil burner fan so he may know

So your left with a new dilemer DO U REFIT THE 5 SPEED or do you try and sort the signal issues from the wheel sensor to convert it to the pcm ?
Hope that answeres your question .
