Does anyones tyres go down because their wheels are rough?

Default Does anyones tyres go down because their wheels are rough?

I thought it sounded daft when someone said your tyres can slowly deflate (like a slow puncture) cos the inside of the wheel is rough/scraped leaving a small gap and needs sanded down

Have you ever heard anything like this? or do i just have a slow puncture

yea i get it all the time at work we just wire wheel em back and bead seal em.

corrosion normally causes it

same here, mine kept leaking, so i had the tyres removed and sanded all the inside of the rims smooth, bead sealer and there all fine now,

I take it this would be sorted if the wheels were sandblasted and powder coated?

yea re-furb sorts em out, unless they are cracked ect. the water sits in where the bead is and corrodes the rim then they leak, i just had to wire wheel my bos zx ones yesterday as i fitted him two fronts.
