Default Odd problem with my brakes...

On my clio (pile of French crap ) the brake pedal went a bit spongy yesterday. When I pulled up the handbrake was hardly grabbing, and went all the way up. Cable was OK as it did hold it slightly.

If I make the car go backwards, the handbrake and foot brake feel fine, and it holds it on my hill, which is very steep. Soon as I go forward they go crap again.

So to have a working handbrake I need to go backwards for a short distance to make it work.

Any ideas people please?

the brakes failed on my missus 1998 r reg clio 1.2 on sat
pedal just goes to the floor and does nothing, then just locks the front wheels.

its the n/s/r brake pistons that have pissed out all the fluid, all over the inside of the drum etc

she was lucky and im in the middle of sorting it out, £20 for new cylinder

I'm deffo thinking its something in the drum, and when the car goes backwards it pushed something back to where it should be?
