Default i WANT a skyline!

ok, i've been in a skyline before (redline one when it was std) and loved it, but didnt blow my mind.

lastnight got a lift home in my mate's R32 (had to get a lift back, my engine sounded FUCKED ) it'#s pretty much standard, got filters, zorst, and running 1bar boost.

i expected it to be quite nippy, but F**K ME it's quick! and the grip! wow! launced f**kin hard just by giving it some throttle after poodling along at 5mph, same kinda throttle response as my v6 sierra, but with an extra 200odd bhp as it comes on boost

now i wanna get a skybus so, how much are half decent R32s? not after anything mega enginewise, im sure 400bhp would do me

oh, and how much are they to insure

How much you got to spend? I know a really good one that you can buy for less than that.

WELL STOP SPENDING MONEY ON YOUR SHONKY SIERRA AND YOU WOULD HAVE HAD ONE BY NOW!!!!!!!

Seans and Renton bought a PAIR for about 10k!!!!! as in 2 of them!!! you spend Ł5000 a month on your Sierra don't you!?!?!?!?

They are both lovely and Seans is now around 400bhp on a nice 1 bar conversion. He has just bought some replicas of my wheels and it looks great! goes great as well! I took it out at Bedford and it felt superb!

Seans is the grey one. It was at Bedford and is looking sweeeet on the new wheels and minus those nasty fog lights!!!!

Renton is selling his.... I'd be buying it if I was you!!!!

Nice choice Jim, but havent you spent a lot of time and money on your Sierra? If so, you going to be keeping that and getting a skyline or flogging the Sierra?

Id vote for "buy rentons"

It looks hard as fuck in black and spoilerless, and is mega good nick in the flesh, not often you see a performance car of the same age thats not got loads of tiny dings etc etc.

Ohlins suspension, oil cooler, etc, so some nice extra touches on top of the usual stage1 stuff, and hes spend the last few weeks giving it a bigtime service etc etc too, so is mint.

Couple more pics from day he bought it.

I thought so too Dave... like a Cortina coupe on Steroids. But they are growing on me. They really are....

Awesome value as well. They are just on another planet to drive compared with an std Escos as well in my opinion. Far superior.

In fact I don't actually think Rentons is going to be for sale for much longer

I like Rentons one without the spoiler anyone got a pic of Seans at Bedford on the new rims??

it's not a gtr... that one will be rear wheel drive and doesn't come with the wider arches like the gtr i think.

Dave... good point. E36 M3's are CHEAP now. Ł8k ish???? thats alot of car and performance

Jim. You could afford to buy one. Whether you could afford to run one is another matter!!!

Seriously though. Think of all the Ł100 here and there you spend on that red shitbox! that money could be servicing the loan you take out to buy the Skyline. Or just get a 0% credit card or something.... I dunno!

What I do know is that as soon as you start driving a proper car you won't look back!

get an insurance quote and go from there matey

I don't think its that bad at all actually! its a tidy car! BUT HE SPENDS ALOT ON IT!!! and its pointless on that car in my opinion. he has turned a POO car into something half respectable

BUT he has paid ALOT to do it!!!!

Start with something decent in the first place is my advice!

lol, Jim do u spend a lot on it? If it's a hobby, then hobbies cost money, and if he enjoys it. I don't think many people can call their car an investment!

yeah i enjoy spending on the sierra, but i'd also enjoy spending on a 400+bhp skyline

i dont hink i'll actually get one, as the R34 GTR is my "dream car" so i'll hold out till i'm more financially stable in a few years and then get one. afterall, i'm still young

its not broken anymore just had a phone call, it was only a tappet

but yes i am doing something quite wrong i got myself in bad debt when i was in my old job (i was on 11k for 3 years). I'm now very comfortable in my new job (30k+) but i've got the debt handing over me still. i'm paying off about 900-1000 a month, but its going quite slowly because of the interest, and i cant get 1 big loan to cover it as nobody does personal loans quite that big as soon as i'm down to about 10k i'll get 1 big loan on a good interest rate, pay it off at 800quid a month and have it done in no time then i'll be f**king minted

Even a FULL exhaust transforms them. From a car that feels flat above 5.5-6k to one that revs round to 7.5k effortlessly.
And 1bar boost transforms them even more, got the revs and the power, and loadsa low down punch.

steve, dont get me wrong, they were plenty quick enuf, it just didnt put a smile on my face, whereas my sierra does everytime i get in and drive it.

bit like when i was gonna buy a cossie, i drove some but even tho they were fast i found them boring, then jumped straight back into mine and loved it

the skybus deffo put a smile on my face tho
