stage 2 rst ecu
bought a stage 2 ecu off ebay a few months ago. fitted it to my car the other day and it seemed like it was over boosting when it hit 12 psi. running no probs when holding 10psi. take it to bits and its defintly chipped. what could be wrong any ideas. any 1 no who tests them. need help urgently

only running 10psi at min. ignition just cuts out if run any more, was wanting to turn boost up to 17psi then get set up but dont want to take to get set up if only running 10psi as want more boost. do you reckon my chipped ecu is fucked

have took cover off ecu and it has had a few extra things soldered on to the board. have pluged my mates stage 1 ecu in and it dosnt cut out at 10 psi. think i should send away to get it checked

can garantee is not standard. i compard chipped 1 to standard 1 and they are totally different. chipped 1 has a few xtra boards soldered on to mother board. any idea

my mate has the same ecu as mine and his also has the same xtra chips. only difference is that his works. the steel bracket has been removed. the board has been marked wih a black marker as well. will try and get some pictures

Have to agree with everyone above. If it's cutting at 10psi is that not the overboost protection on a standard ECU ? I'd bet large money on it.
I broke a white RST and that did exactly that when the boost was turned up by previous owner as it wasn't chipped so it cut at around 10-12 psi.
There arent usually extra boards either. When you remove the metal clip that goes over the chip you sould see A chip like this ...
