Default Painting cosworth cam cover

Once you have painted or powdercoated the cam cover, has anybody used a flapper wheel to remove the paint from the raised areas or is it best to get it done with a milling machine?

That looks real nice doug might give it a try with a scraper then if that fails, order up a set of those covers.

Had a go at sanding/scraping it but its real thick as the powdercoater has used a highbuild primer, so just going to wait and get my mate to run it through the milling machine at his work next week. Thanks for the replys anyway.

you will get best results from the milling machine, it will get it nice and flat and keep the edges sharp and well defined. Personally I hate seeing polished stuff with rounded edges, it's hard to avoid doing it by hand..

This is mine after i ran the flapper wheel across it. I have since smoothed it up with a rubbing block and it came up ok.

If your M8 will run the milling machine over it then id go that route

they all look good considering they are done without a milling machine.
