How do you bleed PAS?

MK2 Mondeo I get an annoying "popping" noise when I turn the steering wheel. Steering doesnt feel odd but the noise is annoying!

How do you bleed these systems?

wheels off the ground and turn from lock to lock slowly a few times IIRC

do I need to leave the cap off or anything like that?

yup leave cap off to let air out

you dont need the wheels off the ground either............hold the lock for a a second of so lock to lock
