Sounds like he has someone sensible on the mapping .

I know a Tuner that dont suffer from that Surge malarky Chip, maybe you should speak to him. Its not difficult to cure as some would have you believe .

Rod, mark is mapping my engine on autronic anyway mate, its that one that ive bought your ECU for, so im already in the right hands.

Hopefully i wont get the same issues anyway though as its on a vauxhall engine not a YB, so fingers crossed it doesnt do it as badly.

Im sure Mark will help me select a position on the cam verniers that helps avoid surge when he is mapping it mike if it does prove to be a problem

If all else fails, i can always swap to a larger housing, but i hope i dont have to as it will get laggier then of course!

I guess that your cosssie wil be in the high 600 hp range maby near 700 hp or higher on race fuel and high boost.
Very good figures for a pump gas engine.

Karl recommended that the gt30 was the best conversion....but at my compression i deceided to go T4 as it hopefully will do around 520bhp...and to be fair the T4 is much stronger and far less aggro to fit.....plus the old turbo dont spin up much further up the revs on my engine than yours Doug.

only if mapped for that, which it isnt.

Dougs is a road car only, he has no interest in race fuel.

How does your compression make a T4 more suitable than a GT30?

Less power potensial.....520 is really the max on normal fuel at std comp even then its borderline...i am sure close to 600 on race fuel though The T4 rocks.....

the higher your comp ratio the more you can gain by running race fuel

I still dont see how that makes it more suitable for a T4

The GT30 would still make a nicer conversion to drive, as it would spool up quicker.

Dougs does, he had a T4 before.

The GT30 is better at both ends of the scale, not just the top end.

Also at higher RPM, you dont need such low compression anyway.

Mine spins up around 300rpm more by the looks than dougs...plus the std comp is loverly to drive off boost...he needs to drive mine ona T4 i am well impressed and i have had lo comp too a couple of times...horrible.

As i said the T4 is more suitable for my application imo...plus is far stronger and easier to fit.

Thats all i need to say.

Thanks.

She hits full boost (the 2.2 bar spike) at 3,700 - 3,800 RPM.......so it's got good spread of power as the soft cut limiter is at 8 k RPM.....great in 4th gear on the motorways/long dual carriagways, it goes from 80 MPH to waay past 150 MPH without a gear change

Schould be a very good car for motorway driving.
She schould pull like a beast in any gear.
If you say to say to supra owner that your turbo hits 2,2 bar @3700 rpm or 3800 rpm he will be green whit envy.
