STILL BIG PROBS WITH THERMOSTAT PLEASE HELP!!!

Default STILL BIG PROBS WITH THERMOSTAT PLEASE HELP!!!

the rpoblem is the bottom bolt hole for the thermostat houseing just keeps on turning, never gets tight. tried putting it on as tight as itl go but water absolutly pisses out

i live in the middle of nowhere and the closest garage i would take the car to is 15 miles away, cant drive the car and cant repair it!!!

tried tapping the hole but it dont work, any ideas on how to fix it??
someone mentioned HELICOIL kit the other day but spoke to the guy at my local parts place and he says you cant just buy one, they come in a big kit costing £300!!!!

please help me!!!! if theres anyone who lives in the borders and could fix it ill sort em out!!!!!!!!!

I was going to say you can get a kit for about £30 m8 just take your time and use the right size insert

cheers for the replys people, thng is dont think that tool to insert the recoil will fit between the head and the radiator!!!!! this is gonna be a headache!!!!!

As said, do it once, do it right

Helicoils are easy enough, just take your time

You can also get them from pantains - used them before, v helpful I can't remember the address, just google for them

thanks people!!

i cant believe a simple job of changing a thermostat could turn into such a shitty job

aint got time to do it this week, too much work on so wont get her back on the road till weekend will have a good blast though!!!!!
