Default Looks like my car is spitting its dummy *need rst box*

So as you know, the car has done 129k and the other day it had 2bar of boost for a bit

When driving (this could be the box) it sounds like the fanbelt is slipping all the time (high pitched noise (faster as revs get higher)) if I floor it, car still pulls fine, but when changing gear, where i would normally hear the chatter, I can hear this high pitched noise.

Sorta hard to describe.

I do know when parked stationary with clutch out, the box is constantly whistling at me.

Any ideas

Thrust bearing on the way out? Sounds like it could be a clutch issue rather than gearbox - the gearbox would normally only make the noise in gear under load (if it's something like the mainshaft) - that's just from what people have told me though, I've had clutches go before and they've made some awful noises!
