It wont match, you will need to have it blended into the rear 1/4 and front wing ideaally

if there good enough you can usually get away with just spraying the door, its a flat coulour wont need blending,we do it at work, even with some metalic colours

if its a new car would be easy but not a old car, might even need full side done dependin on how faded paint is

how would you blend it into the wing, w/o making the wing look shite? i can paint a panel ok, and make it look good, but i wouldnt know where to start without painting the whole panel.

key up the panel(s) to be blended, use a basecoat, effectively flicking it across ajoining panel, then clear coat over the whole lot, have you used base and clear before?

yup, on an xr2... only prob was, as i have no booth and it was summer, i kept on getting flies under the clear

so does the clear coat stop the blend from being visable?

when i took my car for a quote for one of the arches to be done (radiant red s2) I was told they would have to blend it into the door.

they do all the main repairs for Merc, so I trust they know what they are on about

I seem to remember being told there was eight different shades of Ford Diamond White.

I've had my front bumper done once, and they managed to get a very good match, but not so certain it would be as good on the side of a car.........Would recommend taking a good body shop's advice on this one.

the reason you use base and clear is because the clear restores gloss level to the area you have flatted but not coloured, so yes it makes the blend less obvious in a way, but only physicaly not visually if that makes sense LOL
