They sent me a lovely letter promising to beat my renewel quote. So I thought I'd give them a bell. Went through the usual details and they then asked what the car was.

Me : Performance modifications
Swinton: Oh. What's been done
Me: Power output raised to 250bhp, 300mm brakes, Suspension, wheels and a roll cage
Swinton: Are you winding me up?
Me: Not at all it was in Performance Ford last year
Swinton: What renewal have you been offered?
Me: £490
Swinton: I'm sorry but none of our insurers will touch a car with a roll cage.
Me: Oh right, but your letter says you promise to beat my renewel quote.

The fooker then cut me off Guess I'll stay with HIC then

similiar thing for me with norwich union a couple of years ago, leaflet came through my door, i thought i'd give them a try, filled in all the spaces until they asked me what vehicle it is, when i said ford sierra cosworth she said sorry we don't insure cosworth's, i wonder why? must be all the head cases that drive em, around about the same time gave hyperperformance a bell when i started reeling off me mods the bloke stopped me dead in me tracks and said we won't be able to cover that vehicle, why state on ya ads performance and modified then?
