What sort of power did the sierra cosworth touringcars produce before they were rebuilt in 87 to RS500 spec?

they were normal 3 door sierra cosworths before they were rs500's.

they gave 500 of them to Tickford for the conversions to be done.

standard spec 3 door produced 205 bhp iirc.

He means the touring cars not the road cars.

I believe that ran about 330 bhp which was the limit of the T3 turbo, these 3dr spec touring cars were then converted with a kit of 500 parts from Cosworth when the 500 was homologated in August 1987.

Graham Goode was the first person to win a race in a 500 spec version

wern't they all road cars at first.

except the newley built ones.

Nope , racecars were all built from kits of parts , as all cars still are . 909 bits ! Not converted roadcars .
