now i understand about people not liking lag when they go on about throttle bodies! i used to think"just put it in the right gear and youll be fine" but.....nope,its not the same,in 5th at 50mph i put my foot down and the engine instantly tries to jump out of the bonnet!its ace! its the instant response that i love!torque steer is still catching me out,especially in this weather!

Its the same in my old mk1 escort. It was only a 1700 on 40's with a cam, but as soon as you planted your foot at pretty much any RPM, the power was there.

Thats cause its a relativley mildly tuned engine with a broad spread of power, and with a close ratio box and in a very light car.

A n/a car thats not so light, or has longer gears, or a peakier power delivery, and in many respects its a lot worse than a turbo car.

S2000s for example, dropping 3 gears to go from cruising gear to razzing gear.
