I'm thinking of having the valve heads coated on one of the engines i'm building.
Makes lots of sense to have a ceramic thermal barrier coated on valve heads. As far as i'm concerned they must struggle dissapating all that heat through just the valve seats.
Just a bit worried about the reliability issue. eg will it stay fast and not flake off
Any one had any experiences?
All comments welcome.

I'm sure it would be ok mate, I used to run ceramic coated piston's in my motocross bike, different engine I know but the principle is the same.

i have been using camcoat for 5 years now and even took a engine apart to find 3 years down the line the coating was still ther. they also have a wide selection on of coating from thermal barriers to thermal dispersants to lubricants and even powerkoting and anti corrosion if you have a engine apart i would have all the valves done in CBC2/CBX on the face of the valves and tlm on the stem i would also have CBC2/CBX ON THE TOP PISSTON CROWN AND COMBUSTION CHAMBER & POLISHED also TLML/TLCL on the skirts of the pistons that will hold oil film around the piston skirts you can have allmost every part on the engine coated. its up to you its only because i use them offten for most of the engine builds and customers. you do know you could buy it and do it your self its just you have to put things in the oven and cure it. hope this helps

I've just replaced my manifold. It rotted away after just 2yrs with exhaust wrap....... so now i'm thinking of using Zircotec for a ceramic coating (www.zircotec.com) to stop heat problems and also stop any further problem with corrosion. I've seen good reports on other sites, and I see they offer a 3yr warranty even on used systems. Has anyone on this site used them and/or got any experience with their coating?
I also looked at Camcoat, but was put off when I found it was just a paint.

I've been doing reading on Zircotec and found the following endorsement,
http://www.carpages.co.uk/lamborghin...n-19-06-08.asp
The Zircotec website says they deal with individuals. Does anyone know whether you can take things to their factory, and maybe have a look around?
