Default Getting caught speeding

Has anyone been caught doing 140mph+?

What were you charged with and what punishment did you get?

thanks

Anything over 120mph and they are likely to try and charge you with dangerous driving as well as the excess speed. At the very least you will be looking at a 12 month ban.

On the pluss side you can't be given a ban and points fro the same offence, it's an either/or scenario

copper with laser gun. stopped straight away.

two bikes behind him didn't get stoped which is slightly unfair.

I thought that anything 30mph+ over the limit your in was an instant ban these days!

People have done 6 months inside for speeds around that figure!

Where was the copper stood..? was he in or out of the vehicle..? was he standing near a road sign etc..?

Reason i am asking is that there are a lot of things that can affect speed guns and the ACPO have strict guidelines which the wooden tops don`t always follow and your brief can exploit to your favour...

Well here is a story, and i tell you its the truth...

Friend of mine was in his subaru going down the motorway and he had 2 people in the car. He was seeing what he could get out of it, anyway he gets pulled over and starts shitting himself cos he knows he was caught doing high speeds, goes like this

Cop - Do you know what speed you were doing there?

driver - Sorry I really dont, 70?

Cop - Lets be honest here we both know you werent doing 70

at this point the driver just thinks fuck it im screwed anyway

driver - I honestly dont know i know it was probably 100+mph

Cop - 100?? It came up 147 mph on our gun, good lad, didnt know these went that quick, have a good day, on your way.....
