Yep all works ok even got your rev counter working in the dash so thats a bonus lol

Just need to do the starter exciter wire to cure those starting problems but i have had none today what so ever maybe i cured it by pulling the old loom??? but ill do it any way.

Will wait to re fit the dash so you and i can play with that poxy afr gague you got i hate it already!!!!!!! on the up side tho the afr on the ecu seams to me working as i can see the bar move if i mess with the fueling

Just so you guys know the map that the car is running on is actuallu called tina1 so im going to assume its the one from the old doggy cortina lol starts and runs ok on idle although a little ritch so have taken a bit of fuel out of it and it seams to work much better.

I let the car run up to full temp today after completeing the wiring and had the fans cut in at 100 and off at 95 rpm on ide went down to 750 and seamed to be smooth but then im just going on ear at the moment as i dont have a set of rollers so any one wanna donate a dynopack feel free (i wish!!)

got a pic of the laptop screen ill try to post that in a while if i can work out how to do it if not ill send it to Jim so he can

Cant wait to go for a spin next weekend so no jim dont panic i not driven it yet lol need to get the oxygen sensor working properly first so best you get here early on saturday if you wanna take it home lol

I was really surprised at the ease of use the live mapping is a few simple keybord commands. Its also very nice to be able to see what the engine is actually doing.

If i had some thing worth it i would be out to get this system in a flash (well if i had the cash LOL)

Weird i was chatting to the owner of that 24V cortina this very afternoon, i do beleive it will be at santa pod this year for the classic ford day.

That's my dodgy Mk5 Cortina, I stuck the engine in so Dave could map it on his rollers in London before the move to Norfolk. It made 231 BHP on open loop (no Lambda or Air Mass metering) with just a throttle pot. The exhaust was a 2.5" stainless side exit system (much too loud).

The drive home was "interesting" with over 200 hp, standard brakes, knackered void bushes, standard dampers, and very old, hard, skinny tyres.

Since then I found I actually really liked the car so I fitted Cossie Sierra brakes, a five speed box and an LSD.

I have nothing but praise for Dave Walker who will work as long as it takes to get the best from your car when you take it to him.

Let us know what you get with the cams.

Heres a piccy of the dodgy MK5

You're right, tina1 was the first map on my cortina and it was for an old version of the ECU, It's had a lot of mapping since then, some on the road using a wide band AFR and a fearless computer operator, and then another session at Dave's to get all the part throttle fueling correct and the idle nice and smooth.

If you want my latest map for comparison then drop me an email and I'll send you it.

Here's some of the dyno results from one of the sessions on Dave's dyno:

As Bortaf said I'm hoping to get to the Classic Ford show at the Pod which will probably kill the clutch, prop, or axle.

i'd love a copy of the map to look at

well, we took her out today, F**K ME does she go well! i'm like a dog with 2 dicks

the full throttle mapping seems ok fuel wise, sits about high 11s to high 12s, its just that so does all the part throttle stuff. spent about 20minutes taking fuel out on a cruise on the dual carrageway (AFR into the low 14s now for most of the 3-4k <20% tps sites)

also finally got the map sensor reading right (ps what KPa should a 2bar map sensor read at 5v? i put in 202)

i think the ISCV definately needs enabling properly, should run when cold then

at the moment our only hurdle is the ECU not recognising the wideband lambda input, but i've had a thought on that on the drive home, and i THINK its becasue we've got it in the wrong place (i THINK it may need to go into aux2 instead of the lambda input, i'm about to re-read the manual to confirm) oh, and the dash needs putting back together

ME SO HAPPY

You have a pm mate and thanks for that will be good to compare the maps.

We drove the car today think jim needs new underware as i drove it while he used the afr gague to try to get the fueling right lol

Seams to be very strong considering the map is prob totally wrong and needs to be done am very impressed with it so far cant wait to have a go when its been done properly.

It would be safe to say that its a lot better than the standard set up already with prob more to come

It get to the rev limiter so quick and it pulls all the way there it feels like the engine just wants to keep going past that point and carry on revving!!!

took my cams down to kent cams aswell, however they'd gone a bit rusty where theyd been sat in my shed for a year. it's possible that they cant clean them up enough

i bloody hope they can, as i dont want the car sitting at a garage for a week waiting for the cams to be sent off, reground, and returned

http://www.emeraldm3d.com

i've just emailed emerald asking about the ISCV setup (ive just read the manual and i think i know what to do now tho!) and also the lambda (i THINK the live adjustments screen ONLY shows marrowband, and you need to put the wideband into aux2, but ill let them confirm)

also you can program ECU from the live adjustments screen, just press ENTER. none of this menu.. program ecu bollocks we've been doing!

That sounds familiar, when I tried sorting the fuel map out on the road both myself and my mate (reading AFR and typing) had a few nasty turns, he couldn't look out the window so didn't know what was coming and I could see the bend coming up but had to hold full throttle till he tweaked the map.

We couldn't do much part throttle as the car just accellerates through the speed sites too fast. We did think of lashing a caravan to the back with it's brakes on to give us a bit of load......... that would have p'd off even more BMW drivers.

PS I have sent the maps
