Default FAO anyone who uses GREENLIGHT INSURANCE--ALL SORTED

Has anyone got a fully comp policey with Greenlight that allows you to drive any other car?????

I insure the 205 with them fully comp but they have said i cannot drive any other car on this policey.

The Missus insures the Mondeo Fully comp and she can drive any other car as long as it is insured by someone else.

I could also do this with the 3DR when it was insured with another company

My Policey is up for renewal in a week or so and i wanted to cover the 205 but be able to drive other cars on the policey if need be......

Any one know of any other companys that will do this

yup, something i read in a thread they started. they DO NOT allow you to drive other cars.

1 reason why i might not go with them. and stick with HIC as they let me

Did you know that your fully comp on the insured car and only TPFT any other car you drive though?

So if your driving the mongayo on your pug policy and write the car off and its your fault, you have an expensive lump of scrap mate that wont get replaced.

The only company ive seen advertise this "family" policy is Admiral, you can insure multiple cars in the same houshold on one policy.

Andy

The Missus insures the Mondeo Fully Comp with me as a named driver fully comp

I Insure the 205 fully comp and was after a policey that will allow me to drive another car on the policey, i know that it will be TPFT only as i have had it before on the 3DR

I'm insured (not greenlight though) on my daily runner only 3rd party and that covers me to drive any other car.

I thought if ya 25+ most insurance companys will cover ya to drive other cars 3rd party

If the Pug is standard, it could be worth calling Direct Line. I find them pretty good, though I've never had to claim, and they do the driving other cars extension on a Comp policy.

They also now allow NCB to build up for named drivers in their own right (you can't use it anywhere else, but their prices are good) and they give discounts for insuring more than one car in the household.

Im in the motortrade and this normaly rings bells with insurance companies ie they think your gonna use it as a cheap form of traders policy so they wont let me.....the missus on the other hand is fine to do it that way, with the same company as well...bitch lol

Don't forget, too, that the "driving other cars" exludes any other cars you own yourself.

I've noticed that as well, i've just insured the Fezzie fully comp with them and was reading thru the covernote and theres no mention of being able to drive other cars (non-owned) third party only

I thought it was the norm with Fully Comp policies if you were over 25?

Also Tony aint been on here in ages, seems he's slacking some what

I'm going to ring'em as i need this on my policy

No, as mentioned not all insurance companys do it. I've been with HIC on the S2 for a few years now and since going fully comp I can drive other cars third party only (that are insured and legal of course ) And I am under 25 Which again is another good reason I use HIC, plus my renewal is up this month, they are cheaper than Green Light and also got another quote with a few more 'mods' added and they beat Green Light's quote for that too. Looks like i'll be sticking with HIC again

Sorry...this doesn't help much I know

Hi Guys,

Just to clarify the Driving other Cars extension:

Most of our underwriters include this benefit for drivers aged 25+

Cover is included under both comprehensive and Third Party policyholders, but purely covers the other vehicle that you are driving on a Third Party Only cover basis.

Some of our Underwriters exclude this cover for people working in the motor trade, or if you have a limited mileage policy.

For example, an underwriter is not going to give a limited mileage concession to cover 3000 miles on the car they Insure, then allow an unlimited amount of miles under any other car using the Driving Other Cars extension.

These are the only real exclusions.

The prior post that I had highlighted was in relation to Norwich Union's press release - not about greenlight.

If you are unsure, or need this benefit i'll happily check the policy of anyone we cover - just PM me.

In addition, if you need a quote or have had a quote and wish to check then either ask at the time of quotation, when you go ahead, or again PM me.

So.. to recap.. WE DO OFFER THE DRIVING OTHER CARS EXTENSION but there is acceptance criteria for this.

Kind regards

Tony

Ps. I've been absent from the forum for a couple of weeks due to annual leave recently, but have answered all PMs and am back now.
