ST200 Leccy problem...

I've just got an ST200, top motor, but when I floor it, the lights dip, and if it revs really high the battery light comes on... any ideas?

probably alternator, but check the wiring as far back from the alt as you can my mates had melted through on his 200

The guy I bought it off had, the cable changed, so it looks like the alternaor... Thats what I thought, Bugger
