Default Honda Forums???

Just bought me a g plate civic to turn into a track day toy, it's got a blown headgasket, so i was trying (with no luck) to find out a site like this, that could give me some modding options on a budget e.g. will a Acord 2.2 drop in? that sort of stuff - anyone know of any good sites?

common swaps are
B16 1.6 160ish bhp (ek civic)
B18 1.8 180ish bhp (dc2 integra)
H22 2.2 cant rember how much bhp (prelude)
K20 200 bhp 2.0(Ep shape civic and DC5 integra)

k20 swap is considered the best, newer engine 200bhp NA ITB's and managment can see 250 i believe, Would love an eg track car with k20

i think if its a g reg its an ed model and the engine should be a d14 in which case an easy swap would be a d16a9 engine which was fitted to the crx 16i-16v non vtec which gave 130 bhp as standard and can be bought for peanuts. the d16 motor is used in the states but its the single cam 16v but all the bottom end parts are interchangeable which means you can buy steel cranks h beam rods forged pistons alloy flywheels and cheap turbo kits

you can fit a b16/18 vtec engine but at great expence in which case i would go and buy a vtec to start with.
vtec is good but can get boring after owning a turbo as i say its good and sounds wicked but you would want to turbo it after a while.

i have a 16-16 crx at the moment and its as fast as vtec because its lighter but everyone wants a vtec.

Higgsey - with the d16a9 engine - what's the deal regarding the wiring loom? are they the same or is it something that can be interchangable? I'm liking the turbo route, i want to make it a bit of a sleeper so that sounds quite interesting - how would i go about sourcing one of these engines - i'm in the South East London / Kent area and by looking at your location you might know where a good place round here would be to look?

Cheers again Rob
