Default 2wd coilover question

adjusted the ride height to where i want it and when the the car gets jacked up thers a 2" gap in spring to damper,is this right
they are tarmac spec 909 billys if that helps
the spring is 14"but dont know the rating

You mean at full droop the spring leaves the top cap ?
Yes thats normal , you can get a Helper spring that keeps the tension , stops the top cap from dropping out and misaligning with the spring top .

it's an MOT failure for one

if its doing that then you've bought the wrong springs for your spec

why when do they jack the car up for an mot ? it goes up on a ramp ?

Front suspension has to be checked unloaded ie off the road deck and the supported under the arms...apart form the very few odd exceptions. Rear suspension must also be checked off the ramp deck and support with suspension hanging where possible.

Stu (your friendly MOT tester for the passed 6yr)

Here's another 1 for you...are cut road springs a MOT failure???
