sorry to jump on your thread but whats the best way to drain all the old oil out to fill up with fresh stuff?

and what causes a gearbox to make a loose chattering sound at idol and its worse when the engine isnt ticking over smooth

its fitted with alcon plate and clutch 6k miles ago

The RS Turbo box doesn't have a drain plug unfortunately.
You can remove the detent plug next to the case join, and oil will drain out very slowly.

The chattering you are getting, is a by-product of an uprated clutch plate.
The damper springs in the centre plate damp out the power pulses from your engine. On a standard centre plate, the springs are fairly soft, and therefore "iron out" the beats of the engine at idle. On an uprated plate these springs are much stiffer, which then transfers all of the acceleration/decceleration of the engine firing cycle to the gears in the gearbox. As all gears have a clearance between teeth to allow oil in, this rythmic beat at idle sets up the chattering you can hear.
You will hear this even more on a freshly built box running a modern full-synthetic oil, as everything is more free running.
