Default T5 straight cut dog box - any good ?

Just had a look at a RWD escort cosworth and it had a T5 straight cut dog box and i am wondering if these are strong enough to take 500bhp ?

I know bernies box is strong as fook but always wanted a straight cut box LOL....

Does any one know ?

I assume you've changed the ratio's though Martin as 6th gear in a Viper was very nearly 50mph/1,000rpm!

What kind of price is a viper box? And how much modification is needed for fitting in a Cossie?
