bolt missing from throttle cable bracket? TPS adjusted wrongly?

Try unplugging ISCV, if speed doesnt drop to idle, you have a BIG airleak.

Right i unplugged iscv and the revs dropped to normal,so then i took it out and sprayed loads of carb cleaner in and put it back together but it still hasnt solved it. help!!!

What cossie is it? what ecu and TPS?

The plug fix simply proves teh ECU is sending voltage to teh valve, so it is being told either:

1) The engines cold.
2) The throttles open.
3) The engine speed is high.

The above scenarios all send a drive signal to the valve. All i can think of top of my head pal. If its 2wd, you can unplug the TPS and see if it helps, if it does, the signal error is there...

Just off out to eat so will be a while before i reply....

Good point DOOOGLAS... L8 will still run if Phase and knock black plugs are wrong way round. Unsure if L1 & 6 will though...

Seems unliklely as its doing exactly what you would expect a properly working one to do.

Id say thats the least likely thing to be wrong.

yes each plug only goes on one way

its putting the two plugs on each others sensor that is the risk
