I used a 14cfm 3hp with a 50litre tank since 1998 which has been fine for all of the above. Its just gone bang (needs a new motor) so i have replaced it.

I've had a 50 litre one but couldn't keep up with my 3" Sander but coped with everything else including air guns etc. The next one I'm getting is a 100 litre one.

The CFM is the key. The higher the better 3hp motor is the max on a 13plug.
My new one is on a 16amp plug with a really large supply to the garage.

cheers people got an idea to go on

3hp 50L min, but 100L would be better, tho the 50L would probably fit better for storage

will probably go secondhand, so if not up to my requirments , can shift it on will little loss

go for a 250 ltr they sound bigger than what they are. 50ltr ones are good for air tools but want keep up a orbital sander or windy grinder if you use them, the 250 does nearly everything. if your not using the latter 50/100 is good
