Have a looky at the Clarke turbo range , I have a 180amp (i think ) for use out and and about and it's great , Ive welded upto about 3-4mm without any hassle. Only down side is the torch is fixed to the unit so if i need to change it i could have a issue ,

130Amp is the minimum really for a MIG welder doing automotive work. that should be able to cope with most stuff and panel work will be a doddle. i have a sip 170amp mig machine and that does 6mm thick steel with ease.
