Hi guys I've just been to look at a 2nd hand ramp today at a garage that's closing down it's a stenhoj hydraulic 4 poster ramp the guys saying its about 12 year old but lucky if it's went up once a day as was used soley for a minibus contract which is gone now (looks a lot older might just be filthy though like the rest of the workshop) my problems a as follows:- firstly it's a 3 phase and I only have single phase so I presume I'll just be able to change the motor over? and secondly I've been seeing a couple of sites that the ropes should be changes every 3-5 years. The guy says that they have been inspected every year for insurance but never changed so iam not sure. I've got him down to £500 with 2 jacking beams also (again not the best condition) is this worth it or will I be better holding off? Oh Its got a slight dampness round the ram too. The thing is it's quite nearby well about 20 mins away not like others that I seam to see that are hundreds of miles away. Any advice would be great. Cheers.
