Anyone know how I can find out how many mk3 xr3i are left in the country????

 

Last time i looked i think there were around 400

 

Howmanyleft.co.uk lists 254 taxed and 473 SORN however it's not mk3 specific. It's anything called an xr3i so mk3,4 and 5. Mk3s are pretty rare. I've got one and you don't see many

 

I own a mk3 too.

Be good if we could work out which are what mk, I would imagine most are mk4 over mk3

 

Id say the mk5 is just as rare as the mk3 and imagine the mk4 is the most common. Lets be fair you dont see any

 

Out of interest whats an original 1 owner mk3 xr3 i worth these days?

I have one which has sat in my garage in a carcoon since I bought it, think I've had it for about 4 years.

My friend owned if from new, used it for the first few years then kept it under cover in his garage. It was the first new car he had ever bought, ended up getting a company car and couldnt bring himself to part with it.

Full history, every receipt for everything he ever spent on it.

I even have the receipt when he bought it showing his px and finance agreement.

Mots and sorns all tax disks, even have a old unbuilt mk3 escort model which he gave me when I bought it off him.

From memory the miles are around 50k, its had a small amount of work on the rear arches, looking at the receipts this was done under warranty many years ago.

I love looking at it when I open the garage, just breaks my heart to play with it as its so original.

 

Looking at how many left there seems to be

1982 17 cars
1983 137 cars
1984 64 cars
1985 107 cars

Am I correct in thinking the mk4 was out in 1985 as well?

 

Hi all my first post so i'll be getting the virtual beers in, shout up.
Any way my mate has a 84 white 3i not been used for 12 years, going down tomorrow to see what sort of state it's in and see if we can come to an agreement on the price. Might be a 3i owner soon.

 

Good luck my friend, been having a look on the next mk3 seem to be getting very thin on the ground. I wonder if here's many scrapers left out there!
