Mk4 front hub
Hi guys,
My first post so please be kind.
Having issues with my front hub. The retaining screw snapped off and I have been trying to drill it out but I have buggered it up. I know you don't really need it but it is just a pain when you come to put the wheels back on and have to line 3 holes up to get the nuts in.
My question is, I have heard that the mk5 has the outer bolts on the rotor part and you can use it on the mk4. Is this correct? If so, is a straight swap? I an guessing it is just the rotor part which needs to be changed and not the whole hub. This would be ideal if it does work and I would be able to scrap the stupid retaining screw rotor.
Many thanks
Gregg

Hi Gregg have you thought of converting your hubs to studs ? Its easy enough to do and stops plenty of faffing when it comes to getting your wheels on.

Hi mate. Yes that is what I would like to do. Can I use the mk5's ones? The only reason why I ask is that I don't have a welder and for me it would be easier to just get the part and swap it over.

You don't have to weld anything you just drill the holes out slightly in your hub, buy some thing like these
http://www.edsmotorsport.co.uk/ford-...tuds-107-p.asp
And press them in to the holes you've drilled out.
If you do a search on here there should be a guide some where
