Alvyn - I take it as you mean Burton Power? If their website wasnt so f**k'd up then id be able to have a look, but its in such a mess that its hard to find a lot of the stuff.
Andycosworth - Do you have a web address or a contact number mate?
Cheers.

Right, got a price from Burton Power and it comes to Ł150, which i personally think is a little steep for what it is.
So any details of this "Auto Specialists" would be much appreciated?

Cheers Andy, nice 1 mate.
Looks like a short shift is coming in soon then.
Any 1 if it ONLY makes the actual "shift" shorter or is the whole gear stick shorter aswell?
Short shifting is gona defy the object if it still feels like driving a tank!!!

May I just advise that a lot of people that I know have fitted a quick shift kit to a 2wd T5 box and its come off as quick as it went on.
Ian 3dr off here fitted one to his and then went on to by a spare box off me thinking his one was on its way out due to crunching, took the quick shift off and the box has been fine.
He is not the only one to experience this either, seems the 2wd box doesnt like the really quick changes that beat the synchros.
I know what you mean about the long throw but the T5 is a really good box.

er..... thanks Swerv, thats gone and thrown a spanner in the works then, almost literally.
I was just about to order 1 aswell.
So has any one else got any good or bad experiences with their quick shifts on their 2WD Saph's?

They can take a bit of time to set up and get used to but its worth the while IMO

I didnt think a quick shift would have needed a "set-up", i thought you just put them straight in as a direct replacement and then off you go? Whats to set up???

I bought one from Burton for my type E trans and I was not really all that impressed with it. well built, just it wasnt really any shorter than the stock one. It was alot firmer though.
I built my own, and love it. I am working on a second model with some modifications to make it shorter and easier.
cosworth trans use the 3 bolt flange? I am not familiar with the shifter from the cosworths.

TurboFlush - Sorry im not all clued up but whats the Tyepe E trans from?
Going by what you've said below:-
"well built, just it wasnt really any shorter than the stock one. It was alot firmer though."
Considering how my gear stick looks standard but the gear changes are ever so slightly shorter and definatly firmer i think i might already have a short shift in here, quite possibly the 1 from Burton given how accurate your description is of my gear changes!!!
Is it easy to get it out to have a check?
