points on fitting a clutch cable please!!

just fitted a new clutch cable but what a pain in the arse.. managed to get it all together but have no clutch bite. even if i let the pedal out altogether there is a tiny bit of bite at end.. anyone who's fitted one can u help.. cheeRS...

Hi there,
when you fitted the clutch cable did you inspect the teeth on the pedal ratchet mechanism? you should be able to reset the clutch pedal by pulling the pedal fully up by hand against the adjuster back stop you should be able to hear the ratchet adjust. If this is not happening then the ratchet could could be worn or incorrectly assembled!
