Default Bouncing rev counter / red engine light on dash

Hi ,when driving the 3 door its just started doing the above and after a few seconds of no power it comes alive again . Between 2/3k it pops and bangs and stinks of fuel .

Where do I start ?

I may unplug the crank sensor next to the dizzy just to check the connections , phase sensor ill change with rota arm and cap
