Default 3dr Cosworth Tcas.

Ok I know theres burton adjustable ones and another company makes cheaper adjustable rose jointed. But I thought I'd try and see what else I could find.
From my days of converting my sierra estate front suspension setup to full saph cos 2wd inc hubs tcas arb etc. I remembered the inner bush is smaller and the diameter of the bolt is 10mm for the crossmember. So I just drilled the crossmember out to 12mm and fitted the cossie setup.

But with the 3dr as people know the tca balljoints are threaded with castle nuts.
The problem is my 3dr tca balljoint on the nside has play in it. So i'm hoping to press the balljoint out and find a balljoint which will replace it. For now though I need the car back on its wheels!
So I bought one arm off of ggr the other day and I bought 2 sierra ones off ebay.

I have mocked them up

cosworth left 12mm, middle ggr 12mm right sierra 10mm smaller bush holder
With the ggr one the distance between inner tca bush hole and arb hole is way off compared to the cossie and the sierra tca.

But the cosworth tca and ggr tca seem to line up better,

cosworth tca and sierra

I've fitted the decent cosworth tca to one side of my crossmember which is off the car, just for mockup and have fitted the sierra one to the other side but using a 10mm bolt an washers, the antirollbar fits. Nothing looks obviously different !
But without fitting it all onto the car I can't be sure, My theory that the camber will be greater on the sierra tcas??
Would anyone able to comment on this, basically the plan is to rehaul the original cosworth tcas with new balljoints, and use the two sierra tcas then swap back to cossie ones when they are rebuilt.

I have Sierra tcas together with 3dr hubs on my sapph and the camber is normal.

What I don't really understand is that in the top picture the Sierra and Cosworth tca look the same length, but in the bottom picture the Sierra tca looks much longer.

So did you use a sapph antirollbar too? Im still using a h13 3dr antirollbar as I think the h13 keeps the wheels back closer to the rear wheels, although I do have a sapph h14 in the garage. I've fitted both sierra arms using spacers and washers in the crossmember and the antirollbar took a bit of work but got that on.
Tmrw I will be putting it all back onto the car then hopefully it'll sit all ok,

I don't understand why theres a length difference in the picture for the sierra tca either? Ok the cosworth tca is on after the sierra tca, but as you say it looks longer???

3dr TCAs are a proper nightmare! Why hasnt someone got on and made some new ones as surely it would be a money spinner as they could demand higher money than normal

I am going through this with mine at the minute and bought standard sierra ones and im having the end where it joins the the subframe machined out about 1mm all round then the cossie polybush should fit lovely with the cossie bolts

Yes I used the sapph arb and also put 2 washers between the arb and tca to get a bit more caster.

Why are the ggr ones longer? Increase camber or something?
