Default Sapphire diff questions

New to the cossies, hoping someone can answer query on the following:

Are 2wd sierra sapphire cosworth rear diffs all LSD's?

Are the standard sierra open rear diffs interchangeable with LSD's with no mods?

Simple test just to spin 1 wheels and see what way other wheel turns?

Not tried jacking car up yet but recent 'behaviour' of the car makes me think I want to check.

Answers below:

1) Yes.
2) No, the diff is 7.5", lesser models are 7" and hence the beam is different, also the driveshafts bolt on, opposed to being 'splined'.
3) Yes
4) Being the diff is of viscous coupling, what can happen is this goes bad, if this is the case you can get the diff re=rated.

It could also be many other things, such as bad bushes, chief among which is the diff mount.

As you say your are new, it's also essential you check your cooling fans have been rewired and the fuel pump wiring inspected at the minimum, if not rewired.

Thanks Martin

The fan has been rewired and fuel pump runs constant with ignition, although I will be sure to check.

Going to do a big service on it oils, belts, leads, plugs etc

The reason I asked is a few times the car has felt as though it was spinning up the rear passenger side wheel on its own, but not checked the diff yet by jacking the car up, bushes etc hadnt long been replaced with polybushes before I got the car.
